2020 News and information:   Well the pandemic lingers on, and on. The government have announced today (26th November) that Cambridge is a Tier 2, high alert area after lockdown on 2nd December ends.  People from different households must not mix indoors, except for support bubbles.  Some shops and hospitality services will reopen but with strict operating rules in place re social distancing. The rules will be different over the festive period. We ask that you remain as careful and responsible re social distancing as you have throughout the whole COVID period.  Our staff will do the same.

Our staff will continue to use the government guidelines regarding PPE, gloves, aprons, masks etc.  All care/support workers will be offered weekly COVID testing to try and control the spread of the virus. To date none of our clients or staff have tested positive for the virus.  Taking the care and precautions that we have been taking we hope that we can keep the figure at zero.

Staff are also offered the flu jab.

Another winter pressure is the cold weather, we mustn’t forget that cold can also be detrimental to people’s health.  When your carer visits ask them to put the lights on if you need to, the afternoons end at about 4pm, it gets dark very quickly. Wear extra clothing.  Have a warm, mug of soup with your sandwich at lunchtime.  If you have a flask ask your carer to fill it with a warm drink or some soup to keep beside you.  Make sure your heating is on and serviced regularly.  Keep any emergency numbers close to hand.  If you need any help finding them please ask your carer to help.
